This disagreement between the two superpowers, as to, which ideology should be spread to the world, this would eventually lead to the Korean War. The Korean War was the first battle of the Cold War, and first major war fought between the US and USSR.
Joseph Stalin, the leader of the USSR, wanted to see Communism expand as long as he did not want to get involved with a superpower like America. In 1949, the North Korean leader Kim-Il-Sung, persuaded Stalin that he could conquer South Korea. Stalin did not think that America would get involved, so he gave his agreement. He went to see Mao Tse Tung, the leader of China, to get his approval and his campaign was heavily supported, with troops and military.
