Outcomes of The Korean War No side had won the war. Their borders and land started and ended with the same amount of area, along the 38th parallel. But there were only losses for Korea as a whole, with 1.3 million North Korean casualties, 520, 000 South Korean and over 3 million civilian casualties, from both sides due to the gruesome, terrifying and merciless invasion, which would’ve seen many civilians caught up on this path of destruction. The War saw the formation of a heavily communist, North Korea, cutting of its borders to the rest of the world and horrible living conditions for its inhabitants. China had 900,000 casualties and millions of dollars lost in military equipment, though they had gained closer ties with Russia, and saved North Korea from the UN

After the North had started invading, the UN had arrived to defend South Korea and saw an opportunity to overtake the North completely. China then came to help the communists and so the major powers from both sides, made the war even which is why there wasn't a winner in the Korean War as an armistice had come in, with the borders established at the 38th parallel, which lead to no gains and only caused widespread destruction to both countries. With Australia losing 340 soldiers and millions of dollars in military losses and the cost of transporting troops.
